New episodes of Knight Rider, a popular television series that ran from 1982-1986 and starred David Hasselhoff, premiered on the Web September 17, 2008 — a week before its television premiere. Knight Rider is just one of a handful of NBC shows to premiere on the Web before hitting television. NBC is partnering with cable, satellite and video-on-demand providers to make the Knight Rider season premiere available on a variety of platforms. Among other sites, the full-length episode can be viewed on the NBC Web site.

Knight Rider follows ex-Army Ranger, Mike Traceur, who is the estranged son of Michael Knight, the original Knight Rider. Traceur becomes the new Knight Rider, driving KITT, the revved up robot muscle car.
